What are Auctions?
Auctions are exclusive sports memorabilia auctions hosted on our site in collaboration with various partners. These items are often limited edition, signed, or worn in matches or other significant sports events.
What are the different types of sports memorabilia available at the moment?
The Auctions feature various types of sports memorabilia. Currently, there are three different types of match-related shirts available for bidding:
Worn: These items were worn by the players during the game. Unless otherwise specified in the description, match-worn shirts are offered unwashed, complete with all the grass and mud stains.
Issued: These are shirts prepared for players in the matchday squad but not worn during the game. A match-issued shirt is always prepared for the player to wear in the match. It may have been worn or issued as a second shirt, and there may or may not be traces of use, as some players use them for warm-up sessions.
Signed: These items are signed by the player or the team but may not necessarily have been worn or match-issued.
The majority of shirts available are both match-worn and signed. However, the product photo will always include labels indicating whether the shirt is worn, issued, and/or signed.
How do I know if the item is authentic?
Our partners work directly with the teams, which means that the items are obtained directly from the team with no other parties involved. A special Certificate of Authenticity is issued with every successfully auctioned item, containing a unique serial number to identify the item and verify it's authenticity.
How can I verify the authenticity of an item?
You can verify the authenticity of your item by checking the unique serial number provided on the Certificate of Authenticity. To do this, contact the support team of the auction partner through one of the provided communication channels.
When will I be able to see actual photos of the item, rather than just an image representation?
Actual photos of the items are added as soon as the auction partner receives them, typically at least 24 hours before the auction closes. However, unforeseen delays in logistics or delivery may occasionally cause some items to only have animations until the end of the auction.
While I can see most of the real item photos, there are still a few items that just have an animation. Why is this the case?
Real photos of the items will always be posted as soon as possible, and before the auction closes. Once the real item photos have been taken, they will immediately be visible for you to see on the image. In some cases, there may be unforeseen delays in logistics/delivery when the item is handed over from the team to our auction partner. This means that most items will be real photos, however some might not be until the end of the auction.
There are also rare occasions when it takes longer than usual to get a specific item due to unforeseen circumstances, the real item photos of that specific item might not be updated before the sale ends. This will always be specified in the details, along with the status of the item in question.
Do I need to verify my account before making a bid?
Yes, you must verify your identity on the Socios.com app before placing a bid.
Why do I need to enter the delivery country before placing a bid?
You need to enter the intended delivery country to calculate shipping fees in advance and provide you with the shipping cost.
How do I place a bid?
To place a bid, tap the "Place a Bid" button at the bottom of the item screen and enter the amount you'd like to bid in your selected app currency.
Why is the bid amount displayed in 2 currencies?
To enhance your bidding experience with secure and transparent transactions, we utilize CHZ, backed by our own Chiliz Blockchain. This allows us to leverage the benefits of blockchain technology.
The bid amount is displayed in both CHZ and your selected FIAT currency, as configured in your Socios.com settings. This approach is designed to offer you an optimal bidding experience.
Is there a minimum or maximum bid amount?
There is a minimum bid amount, which is indicated when you place a bid. There is no maximum bid amount.
How do I know if my bid is accepted and I'm the highest bidder?
After placing a bid, you'll be assigned a random bidder ID for anonymity and identity protection. The bid section will turn blue to indicate that you're the highest bidder, and your bid will be highlighted in blue in the bidding history section.
Why is my bid temporarily locked on my account before winning an auction?
The CHZ amount used for bidding is temporarily locked to secure the transaction if you are the highest bidder when the auction closes. It will be unlocked if you're outbid or if your bid is rejected.
What does the locked amount include?
The locked amount includes your bid amount and the shipping cost of the item.
What happens if there are currency exchange fluctuations after I place a bid?
The amount of CHZ locked will not change regardless of currency exchange fluctuations once you have placed a bid.
In the instance that there is an out of the ordinary currency fluctuation (i.e. +/- 50% fluctuation) between the moment your bid is locked until the time you have won the auction, please contact support and we will review your case.
Why might my bid be rejected?
Your bid can be rejected if it's too low, if the auction has ended, or if someone bid higher at the same time. Contact the support team if the reason is unclear.
What happens if I'm outbid?
If you're outbid, your bid amount will be automatically unlocked, and you'll be notified via email and the app.
When does the countdown timer of an auction increase?
The timer extends by +15 minutes for every bid made under the 15-minute mark to give everyone a fair chance to bid.
What should I do after winning an auction?
Congratulations! Follow the provided in-app request and email instructions, including filling in your shipping address as soon as possible to avoid any delays. You'll receive another email with your order and shipping details after processing.
What data is shared with the auction partner?
Only essential information, including your name, phone number, email, and shipping address, is shared to facilitate shipping.
When will my item be shipped?
In general, items are shipped within 5 business days. You'll receive an email from DHL with a tracking number once your item is shipped.
Do I have to pay for shipping, and how is it calculated?
Yes, the auction winner covers the shipping fee, which is calculated based on the shipping country and item location.
Are there any countries you don't ship to?
We deliver Socios Auctions items to nearly all countries worldwide, except for Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Syria, Cuba, and Iran.
Can I change my delivery country after winning an auction?
You cannot change your delivery country after winning an auction because it affects the shipping cost.
How will my item be shipped?
Items are securely shipped in a solid box via DHL Express secured shipping, requiring a signature upon delivery and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Can I track my item during shipping?
Once the courier picks up your package, you'll receive an email with a tracking number, allowing you to track the parcel and adjust your preferences.
Why do shipping costs vary for each Auction?
Shipping costs vary because items are shipped from different locations.
Will I be charged customs fees?
You're responsible for any customs duties and taxes imposed by your country of residence. Check the item description page for details on the item's shipping location.

Customs duties and taxes may be imposed by your country's authorities, and it's your responsibility to handle these charges.
What happens if an item I redeemed gets lost or damaged during shipping?
If an item is lost or damaged during transportation, we regret to inform you that we cannot replace it due to the exclusive nature of the memorabilia. In this unfortunate event, we will refund the full amount in CHZ to your Socios account. While we do our best to ensure that your rewards reach you safely, there are unfortunately occasional circumstances beyond our control.
Can I return or exchange an item?
All items are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and non-refundable.
